Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership (LowCVP) ( www.lowcvp.org.uk ) : Set up in 2003 to accelerate the UK’s shift to low carbon vehicles and fuels, Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership was one of the central actions arising out of the Government’s ‘Powering Future Vehicles’ strategy that identified greenhouse gas emissions reduction as a priority of future transport policy. United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change ( www.unfccc.int ) : The Convention on Climate Change sets an overall framework for intergovernmental efforts to tackle the challenge posed by climate change. It recognizes that the climate system is a shared resource whose stability can be affected by industrial and other emissions of carbon dioxide and other heat-trapping gases.
CRed ( www.cred-uk.org ) : is the Community Carbon Reduction Programme based in the East of England and focussing on Norfolk and Norwich. CRed is dedicated to forming partnerships with householders, businesses, schools and government, at all levels, in order to elicit the actions which will lead to the deep cuts in carbon emissions required to prevent the worst impacts of climate change.
